Fumi HideFumitomo Hide, Ph.D. is a patent consultant and translator for GBN. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from UC Santa Barbara (California) where he studied photophysics and laser physics of luminescent conjugated polymers under Professor Alan Heeger, a Nobel chemistry laureate. He holds 3 Japanese patents and 3 US patents and has numerous other patent applications pending. He has worked at Sony, IBM, and Raychem in the areas of lasers, liquid crystal displays, hard disk drives, and gas sensors. Dr. Hide was a founder of a start-up company that developed new rechargeable battery and direct methanol fuel cell technologies, and was a director of business development at a startup company that developed thin film transistors for liquid crystal displays and organic light-emitting diode displays. Max IkedaMax Munetaka Ikeda is the founder and president of Global Business Navigation, Inc. He founded GBN to assist US businesses and inventors with obtaining patent protection in Asian countries, particularly Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and the People's Republic of China. He is a seasoned technology executive with extensive experience in the US and Japan. After receiving a MS degree in mechanical engineering from Keio University (Tokyo, Japan) in 1975, he was a senior facilities engineer at Toyo Engineering for 12 years. He worked in international trade and plant construction sales as President of Toyo USA for 12 years and in factory automation for 3 years as vice president of Hirata USA. Mr. Ikeda founded GBN in March 2003.
